Swiftpage Releases Act! 18.1

Swiftpage has released version 18.1 of its Act! small-business contact management and email marketing software. Among other enhancements, Act! 18.1 will enable users to  create integrations with hundreds of popular business tools using the new Act! Connect feature.

Act! Connect builds on the Web API platform that Swiftpage released in December as part of the Act! 18.0 release. It allows for quick setup of connections between Act! and dozens of other business tools, including MicrosoftOutlook, Slack, PayPal, Wufoo, and Intuit QuickBooks Online, via the Zapier integration platform.

In October, Swiftpage made its Act! Essentials product for contact and interaction management available in the Zapier App Martketplace, connecting users to more than 300 online services.

"These are just some of the current integrations," says Lorcan Malone, chief operations officer at Swiftpage. "The plan is to expand it to other platforms over time. We’ll be coming out with a lot more integration stories in the coming months."

Bundled installation of the Act! Web API with Act! Premium for Web ensures active subscribers have the tools they need to get started with Act! Connect services and create useful and powerful integrations.

Act! Connect, Malone adds, is "a fantastic piece of added value" for Swiftpage's partners and customers. With Act! Connect, "the whole usability and ease of deployment is key," he says. "In a matter of a half hour, your software could be integrated with Act!"

"With this release, we are showing our customers that an Act! subscription provides more than just contact management software to help run your small business," Malone says. "Version 18.1 with Act! Connect puts hundreds of online small business applications at our users' fingertips and they don't need to have extensive developer skills to reap the benefits of these integrations."

Act! delivers a complete view of each contact, activity and appointment scheduling, email marketing, lead scoring and follow-up recommendations, sales pipeline visibility, business workflow automation, and mobility options.

Malone calls version 18.1 "a major release" for Swiftpage, which acquired the Act! product line from The Sage Group in February 2013. Also included in that deal was Saleslogix, which Swiftpage sold to Infor in August 2014.

Act! 18.1 is available immediately in English. French, French-Canadian, and German language versions will be available on May 3. Versions in other languages will be made available as they are released by Swiftpage's partners. "The product lends itself to globalization," Malone says. "It can work across the world."

The latest version is provided at no additional charge to current Act! subscribers. Customers on a subscription plan get access to new features and services as soon as they are available and can choose the best plan to fit their unique business needs. Act! can be deployed on-premises or hosted in the cloud.

The Act! Premium Cloud, which Swiftpage released in October, is currently available in North America and Europe. Malone says that offering "has been working very well" for Swiftpage, particularly as it moves to increase its subscription business.
